Did you know that waste management is one of the oldest industries in the world? Archaeologists have uncovered landfills dating back thousands of years. As early as 500 B.C., the city of Athens, Greece had a basic trash collection system.

Next week is Waste & Recycling Workers Week, a time to honor the dedication of those who perform such an essential job. Created by John Arwood in 2012, this week-long celebration is a wonderful opportunity to show our appreciation.
